Receptionist /
Clerical Officer

This position is based at both EBC 1 and 2 (Market Street and Gosber Street) The working hours will be 15-20 hours between Monday and Friday (negotiable, full time hours needed to cover holiday periods) £9.50 per hour, paid monthly, permanent position.

Purpose of Position

Under the direction of the Business Centre Manager assist in the provision of an efficient and flexible administrative/financial support service with good customer care and attention to detail.

Duties of Responsibilities - Specific

  • To deputise for the centre management as appropriate.

  • To act as the main receptionist at either centre, dealing with both internal and external phone/personal enquiries, queries, the taking and communicating of received messages, together with meeting, greeting and helping visitors (internal and external to the centres) by providing good customer service at all times. 

  • As the receptionist, deal with sorting distributing mail and ensuring efficient mailing and despatch/receipt of parcels.

  • To maintain the meeting room diary, organising bookings, costings and ensuring individual requirements are met. Acting as host to arriving for meetings and organising refreshments and layout of meeting room as required.

  • To undertake filing and record keeping as appropriate.

  • To source and order EDC stationary and equipment when required.

Duties of Responsibilities - General

  • To adhere to existing working practises, methods and procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities.

  • To work with, maintain and develop information technology systems to provide the best service to both the company and business centre tenants.

  • To assist the Directors in implementing and complying with with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.

  • To assist in the running of a Community Pantry shop for people of the community in need and to replenish stock when necessary.

  • To greet and work with the public who frequently visit the shop and work alongside volunteers.

  • To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the companies equal opportunities policies.

  • To ensure that all of our statutory policies are currently maintained and adhered to.

  • To carry out any other reasonable duties within overall function of the, commensurate with grading and level of responsibility of the post.
